 2016 Preview 


       Pinson Valley completed the 2015 season with a 7-4 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 6A region six, the Indians earned a spot in the playoffs in 2015. Pinson Valley's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Austin by a score of 35-7.

       Since 2010, Pinson Valley has gone a combined 41-28. Their 59.0% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Pinson Valley has managed to compile a record of 142-126. Their 53.0% winning percentage ranks 25th in Class 6A and 160th in the AHSAA.

       The Indians are led by head coach Matt Glover who is entering his eighth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 42-37 over the past seven seasons at Pinson Valley. Under his direction the Indians have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Glover.

       Coach Glover's overall record as a head football coach in ten season stands at 56-54 (50.9%). Over the course of his career, Coach Glover's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times .

       The Pinson Valley Indians will play in Class 6A region six during the 2016 season. The Indians have one of the toughest schedules in Class 6A. Their opponents had a combined record of 74-44 last season. That ranks 6th in Class 6A and 17th in the AHSAA.

       Region six will be one of the most competitive regions in any classification this season. The Indians will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region six this season. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since 2009 and are hopeful to continue that streak in 2016.

       The Indians open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent McAdory on Friday, August 19 at Willie Adams Stadium. Last year the McAdory Yellow Jackets finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class 6A region four. The Yellow Jackets lost in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs to Benjamin Russell by a score of 34-3.

       Pinson Valley and McAdory have met a total of 23 times on the football field. The Indians have a 12-11-0 record against the Yellow Jackets. They last met in 2015 with Pinson Valley winning by a score of 24-21.
